TX road conditions What a mess. SAT. @ 5AM The arctic front is surging southward through TX with Abilene at just 12° at Corpus Christi at 70°! The freezing line is nearing the I-35 corridor, just NW of Austin. Widespread freezing rain is ongoing to the northwest of the freeze line and road conditions have deteriorated overnight across a large portion of the state. Travel is not advised today in NW/W/N TX. StormChaser : Thanks for all your updates. Today and and tomorrow are good days to stay home. Even tho we are not freezing today the roads will be messy.

Kingwood is a Centerpoint hub for their trucks (HEB 59 side parking lot). Hopefully that means we are going to be fine. Layers people layers. I have thermal underwear if I need it. Hopefully my portable generator doesn't lock up. I did get the big generator plug added to my electric panel, we shall see how much I can run on it, I am fine with just running the furnance.
HappyDay2016 : Furnace doesn't draw a lot of amps. We can run both furnaces, two fridges, lights, modem, router with our 5kw generator no problem.

buffaloglenn : Good to know, I have a 15000 watt trifuel I bought last year. I was reading if it was gas I could power everything but with natural gas not as much. I am using natural gas for convenience.

StormChaser : I honestly will not watch or listen to the news about it lol. It just feels the same for every event now. Just what you said, invoking fear. Even when hubs is going on about it, I block it out. It is better that way lol. Of course then the damn rain starts and keeps me up and it is getting real. Hate feeling trapped in the house so hope it goes by fast.
