Mail thief! Police came to our house to let us know some of our mail had been found (with others) in a public trash can in Sherwood Trails and up and down the trails. It would have been after Dec 26th, As that is when one of our smaller packages (containing candy dice) was delivered to our mail box. The empty box was found. There is a police report so if you have any info it can be added to that report.

Thanks for the heads up. Had a similar situation last year.

Sorry to hear this. My neighbor had medicine stolen by postal workers a few years ago. They were going to be prosecuted but I never heard what the outcome was.
That doesn't surprise me. We have missing mail several times a month but we've never received information on what's happened to it. Contacting the PO doesn't do any good.

Was it regular carrier or sub-carrier on your route? When I worked at USPS-we had a new Sub come in and we all thought wow, he's going good! Nope, a couple weeks later they brought all the mail they found at his apartment. Never made the news! Have you contacted Postal Inspectors? I would!

Especially if it's not a mail carrier. I've seen
Mail carriers fired over stealing a Birthday card from, "Nannie" which had $5.00 in it. Seriously. Most are great-show up, service route, and start again tomorrow. However, some, not so much.

Pretty much every personal letter/thank you note we get through the USPS has arrived open over the years. Sadly it has almost become normalized. We only send checks and important mail via sealed trackable priority mail envelopes.

This is happening a lot, in Louisiana, Wyoming...all over the country. Happened to my sister in Cheyenne, mail carrier of 30 years dumped a bunch of mail. And they even opened up my Christmas card to her and threw it away. She got an empty envelope.

KPO is widely known for theft. Not to mention, things that even LOOK like there could be money...have been opened !
I'm reminded of a package hand delivered in Forest Cove by a carrier (not that many years ago) that was to contain a small, extremely expensive electronic device. It arrived "unopened" and only contained a charger. The missing device was discovered (in plain view) in the carrier's personal vehicle at the postal station.

We did have a USPS delivery the next day abs he brought the package to the door. So I don't know but I don't think it was him….. but who knows!
USPS Kingwood has had serious issues for decades. When I worked in the Galleria area in the 90s, the postman who delivered to our office said it was well known that the Kingwood post office had problems. Our regular postman is great and so are most of the subs. Some of the substitute delivery people need improvement.

How was that resolved? Did you follow the individual back to PO?
Did you get said item back?🙏
