At the end of the day, you're not remaking Gone With The Wind on the thing. Look for a low cost unit with good resolution, large storage capacity and decent night vision. That's all you need. The rest is just extra cost fluff. Word of caution. Some units will display your speed on the recording. If you get in an accident and the camera displays a speed over the limit, you've got insurance issues even if the other guy is clearly at fault. Usually, if they display speed you can disable that in settings on the unit. Make sure you do, even if "you never speed". Remember, there are two types of drivers.
