Orangeapple : So does that mean also that the shops, restuarants etc will be powerless I wonder? If so, Saturday is a poor choice of days. IMO.
JamminTX : I've considered the possibility of longer hours. Just going to prepare for the worst. Fortunately, I have relatives to take freezer stuff to.
I'm in Kings Cove and we were notified back in October that we would be without power on Saturday (15th) starting at 0800 and lasting 6-8 hours.

JamminTX : Thanks for this. My freezer is almost full so I might just buy ice for fridge stuff. Trying to consume most of the meat in frezzer this week.
When your electric company urges you to buy a generator, and even offers a rebate, you have to wonder about their reliability.
