Kingwood Flooding

Do y'all see on the map how freaking close the proposed new development is to Kingwood Dr, Northpark Dr and Hamblin Rd? And it literally borders the San Jacinto River. Kingwood already has flooding problems, this development is going to make it so much worse. They want to build in a floodplain and on wetlands…how is that even allowed, Harris County?? We all better get flood insurance. What more can we do other than just posting on KDC?

That is crazy. I would hope home buyers would do their homework about that area. When we moved here we would never have thought we would have to purchase flood insurance. They get you too because you can not cancel and reply another time without a huge jump in payment.

I've kayaked a lot up that way around that peninsula. I'm surprised someone is attempting to build there. Very swampy
