Bicycle riders?

Is there a group of guys in the area that ride mountain bikes together on the greenbelt trails?

My husband started riding about a year ago and would love to join a group of guys that are around his age. (late 50s-ish)

He rides every day after work (around 5pm) and on the weekends.

He sticks to the trails for the most part to avoid cars. (People do not pay attention)

He rides all over Kingwood; a lot in Trailwood area & down towards the boat docks. (We live in Trailwood) But he has different runs that take him anywhere from Kroger to St. Martha's.

Anyway - if you know of a group - or - if you're also a rider that's looking for a partner, let me know!

StormChaser : I literally saw a group just last night in Atascocita. They had their bikes lit up, speaker backpacks, and a dark (black possibly) truck with a large Ozark Trail sticker on the tailgate, that followed.

I don't ride mountain bikes (I ride on the road and very occasionally on gravel). There are some good group rides that start from the Trek store - I would recommend he go to the store and ask around! Other good options are Facebook (there are some good riders groups) and Strava (good to follow other local riders).

StormChaser : There are a lot of them in Kingspoint area. They are out in droves spring and fall. I will ask around

eighteen : Sounds like a Wheelie bike ride out. Look them up, lots of fun! My kid bought his first Wheelie bike from 29ers.

JamminTX : While it looked like a blast, I didn't care for them. I ended up hitting the curb because whomever was on the yellow bike kept swerving and I didn't know if he was coming into my lane or not, no one did. I also thought I saw some beer chugging from a couple of riders.

Seemed all around unsafe. I did appreciate the riders in white shirts that kept their friends safe at intersections, though.

What gravel bike do you ride. I have a Trek Checkpoint- it's good for what I do, but it's nothing like my old Specialized Ruby- that bike fits me like a glove. I do a mix of road and gravel( mainly washes and paved trails) - I'm not brave enough to take it on the hiking trails near my house- I'd probably fall off the hills
