311 has been great when I've called regarding pot holes, stop signs and lights. Let's hope that this will receive equal service.

DRayGunn : THIS 👆👆 The yard debris blown into the street gutters is a HUGE ISSUE. When our street was flooding during the May 2019 storm, my neighbor pulled out SO MUCH lawn debris from the street gutters. Once he did, the water started to recede pretty quickly. Because of that, we only use a lawn crew that bags everything. I've gotten about 5 other homes on my street to start using them and the street seems to flood less now. Plus, that same neighbor will go out and clear the gutters every few months. (Lord knows the city isn't going to do it) 🙄Seriously, if you need a new yard crew, JoJo and his guys are great. They do a ton of homes in KW and have been in business for years. He's a KHS grad and long time KW resident. JoJo Geiser

There are several ditches that cross under Kingwood Drive. The first ditch to the east of Woodland Hills Drive is the Shady Run Ditch. It originates in Kings Forest just north of the intersection of Shady Run Drive and Kingwood Drive. The City cleared this ditch in the median of Kingwood Drive in 2023. The Flood Control District finally cleared this ditch south of Kingwood Drive.
The second ditch in the median of Kingwood Drive is just east of the intersetion of KW Dr. and Forest Shores. You cannot see this ditch as it is hidden by vegetation. The outlet of this ditch enters Lake Kingwood. You can see the sediment and vegetation at the outlet of the culvert of this ditch. It needs to be cleared but this ditch drains a small area and is a lower priority. The third ditch the crosses under Kingwood Drive is just east of the intersection of Lake Crescent Drive. This ditch is Bear Branch. Bear Branch is a major drainage channel with a watershed that includes much of Bear Branch Village, some of Kings Forest, eastern half of both North and South Woodland Hills and a protion of Hunters Ridge Village. There is a great deal of sediment in the channel of Lake Kingwood and the culverts under Kingwood Drive. This is an important channel under Kingwood Drive that needs to be cleared. The fourth ditch under Kingwood Drive is called the Valley Manor ditch. I believe this is the one you are referencing. This ditch was recently cleared by the City but there is still some work planned upstream of Kingwood Drive. The water level in this ditch is controlled by the level of Lake Kingwood. Due to the level of the Lake, this ditch will always have some water in it. The final ditch crossing the median of Kingwood Drive originates from Kingwood High School. This ditch primarily drains Kingwood High School. The grass in this ditch was recently cut by the City, and the High School improved the ditch upstream of KW Drive. This ditch crosses the driving range of the country club. The small culvert under the driving range is failing and will need to be replaced to restore proper drainage of the High School property. The City is working on this with the Country Club.
