Anyone know a local guitar teacher for two clueless adults (us)?
My wife and I have decided to learn how to play guitar. She stays at home, I'm hoping to start my second go around at retirement sometime in the next 2 years. Both if us have had a lifelong desire to play guitar, but as always happens, life gets in the way.
We have quite a few guitars in the house now due to my very irresponsible yet immensely fun guitar buying spree, but we're not sure how to proceed.
The plan is to be largely self taught, with countless resources available these days on DVD, books, and especially the internet. However, I'm thinking that it's probably a good idea to visit an instructor periodically to check on us to see how we're progressing and to correct the inevitable self taught bad habits we'll pick up along the way.
I'm hoping to find someone who works on their own, rather than out of a music store or place like that. While not a necessity, someone who speaks Spanish would be a wonderful asset as well. I don;t even know what music lessons typically cost these days, does anyone know?
