Nukumi review. First time I went so.... I have nothing to compare it to. We entered today about 1145. The greeter was not friendly. Seemed a bit empty but.. lots of folks at church perhaps. We were seated quickly. I went to the powder room. First stall had noTP. Baby changing station stall smelled like urine but..had TP. I seated myself and nearly slipped off as the seat was loose. Upon exiting, I notified them of the need for attention to the same disinterested greeter. As I walked away....she took no action. I barely sat down at our table and the same greeter came and asked if we were ready to order. Umm...no. She came back literally 60 seconds later and wanted the order so I felt rushed. Served salad and soup which I found less desireable than our fave HB in Humble. Hibachi chef came on site and started cooking. The protein portions were lean and heavy on the rice and veggies. He LEFT the cooking platform while my DD's shrimp was cooking with no explanation! He did return and mumbled something about "smoke". Yes, we were asked how things were by the same woman. How can I answer as I have no previous experience to compare to and frankly...she doesn't care. Time for the check. She gave me the device and....literally hovered over me to see how much I was going to tip!!!!!!! Some will say "Did you ask to speak to a manger? " NO! She was probably the manager. $75 later....HELL NO!

That lack of customer service will kill a meal out, for me. I am not there to Marry someone , but would it kill you to Smile, be welcoming? The tip buzzarding would have made me tip right At the 15-20% mark. Have never been a big fan of hibachi, but have gone, when invited for an occasion, retirement, etc. Ugh on the bathroom stuff; those bathrooms were always clean and stocked, before they became Nukumi.
Sounds like several misses from start to finish. I understand your frustration, but they can't change what they don't know about as far as those misses. I would have had enough with the tip hovering and asked for the manager or owner, especially since they didn't seem to be all that busy as you described.
I F they hovered over you while you were doing the tip I would have given the 10%. That would send a message. I have never tipped that low but I also never had someone behave like that.
That is so disappointing to hear how awful for dining experience was there. We have been several times and it has always been pleasant and the food REALLY good, but we never sit at the hibachi grill, always at a table. Hopefully just a glitch they will fix because that is our special night out spot.
