wmubronco : that is fantastic! Every child needs to read, especially in the summer. I used to make it a contest for my kids and now my grandchildren. They get special prizes for reading, gift cards, movie passes, stickers, etc. The grands are on an 8th grade level and they're only 10. I'm so proud of them!
Gammyof2 : My wife taught my daughter to read.....around 3-4 years old.............she read at a third grade level...............very important in the real world.

TEXASGIRLMAMMA : Yes..........................................AND we have books for Home School use too.

wmubronco : My youngest learned to read at 3. She loves to read. If a child can read they can learn whatever they want to learn.

TEXASGIRLMAMMA: It's pretty amazing what children are capable of at such a young age. Both of my kids finished K-4 reading and writing cursive at a 4 th grade level. I don't believe any of the kindergarten teachers, or elementry school teachers, for that matter, had a teaching degree. The curriculum that was utilized was based heavy on phonics.

Govchance : When I really think about it you really don't need a teaching degree. I homeschooled my kids and I didn't have a teaching degree. They went on to college and got degrees in their area of interest without any problems. They were very well prepared for college.

The teacher's edition tells the teacher how to teach the information in the children's textbooks, what the most important things are on each page, in each section. When the students have their arithmetic books open, the teacher is holding a book that looks identical but has more pages because the information on how to teach that material is part of the teacher's edition textbook.
