Tad bit late to ask, but does anyone know the exact reason the bin store in Porter around rd 1314 closed? An arcade business has since opened in it's place, but for the longest time, the sign for the bin store remained. I heard there was a lawsuit involving the death of a dog, from dog food bought from the place. I personally would never buy anything meant for consumption from a bin store, so that ordeal felt silly to me. I don't even like bin stores like that, but this one made an effort to be orderly and organized, and they did have amazing deals! I had gotten a 120$ Sous Vide for only 10 bucks once. 5ft long cat plushy, 50lb weighted blanket, garden lights, pregnancy pillows, and craft supply usually in for the range of 4-10 bucks depending on the day. It was nice being able to afford quality gifts for friends and families while it lasted though.

Nadialong : That just sounds like an internet rumor that shouldn't be spread around without corroborating info...
Govchance : A bin store buys returns and merchandise that didn't sell. Just like tj max, Beals, etc. They buy by the lot and don't always know what they are getting. Ollies does the same. If you look at dates like I do, you'd never buy those edible items. They do not pull out of date items. Bin stores aren't even sure if it works sometimes.
They are okay for some things at a cut rate.
GiggleMugs: Nadialong: I don't even know what a bin store is.Govchance: I'm not quite exactly sure what they are either, but my guess is Amazon occasionally has a surplus of product they probably sell off in bulk for dirt cheap. The "bin" stores dump the products in giant bins where people scavange for a deal. The rates change daily, but based on the day, everything sells for the same rate. You can either get a really good deal or potential get scammed. I've been to other select bin stores in Houston, but they are messy, unorganized, and generally junky. It was always surprising to me that the Porter location was the best mantained.
Joe: Thats what I chalked it down to, but I would be surprised if they didn't make a profit. I would always avoid going early because they would be always be packed first thing. No parking ever!

Nadialong : I did r know it had closed. I never went there cause I hate digging through stuff like that. I like organized stores.
