Former Patton Village Mayor Arrested

Former Patton Village Mayor Leah Tarrant, 60, was arrested on charges of theft ranging from $2,500 to $30,000 after an investigation by the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office Public Integrity Unit. This unit is responsible for examining complaints of criminal misconduct by public servants.

I didn't realize that they were so small. In 2020 the population was 1647.

- A judge ousted for trading sex to dismiss a case.
- In 1988 a former mayor was charged with murdering his wife.
- A mayor and six police officers arrested for using police cars as collateral for personal loans. Mayor sent to jail for it.
- Forcing the state to create news laws to address the city's use of speed traps to raise money.
- The police chief going on a public hunger strike because of that new law.
- And now a newly arrested mayor in 2025.

…all this for a tiny town of 1600 people.
