Does anyone use Lake Houston Smiles for their dentistry? Good

Good admin but the dentists do not stick around very long.
They also push hard to upsell services.

Smoothwaters: a couple of years ago, I went because I was having a very sensitive tooth . Everything cold was very uncomfortable and it was not a a cavity. They wanted to do a root canal right there and then! I freaked out and said "no".
And they quote me 7,500.00 !!
Well, I called my sister ( husband is a dentist) I flew to PR and it was nothing like they diagnosed.
The solution was a simple tooth reduction needed. My constant grinding at night, was causing the sensitivity, and to this day I am fine.
So no, I don't like how quick they were ready to do a serious procedure such a root canal .

I had tooth sensitivity too. I was told the tooth next to it needed a crown and that was causing pain and sensitive. Then she tried selling me laser treatments. No, just fix the tooth. I originally went to have that tooth looked at and a teeth cleaning. After tons of xrays, gum measurements and saliva test I never got the cleaning. 2 hours wasted. Scheduled appt for crown and I just had a nagging feeling that was not the issue. I was seeing another dentist there and was told that I did not need a crown after paying for it. The tooth that I knew was causing the pain was coming from an old filling. She also filed my teeth making sure my bite was right. I was thinking I should look around for someone else on my plan that is why I wanted to hear other peoples experience. I did like the second dentist.

I do not like the up selling crap. I haven't been to a new dentist in 25 yrs and I thought this what dentist do now. You still going to them?

staying with them for now. I am in the final stage of an implant so I feel committed.

Smoothwaters : I left Dr. Butler for Dr. Viviana Stellenwerf. The difference is amazing. I highly recommend you consider her.

Its not a regular dentist office that you are probably used to. They try to upsell you on absolutely everything. We tried them, but switched to Carus with Dr. Whitehead and are leaps and bounds happier. Be careful at Lake Houston Smiles and get ready to pay!!!

Agree went once and to much upsell and even with ins, overpaid for a root canal and crown. Ended up driving to Corsicana to my old dentist for rest of work needed.

I went to Lake Houston Smiles once. The dental assistant kept stuffing an impression plate in that was way too large for my mouth. She wouldn't stop and cracked the edges of my mouth. Now I go to Dr. Smith at Creekwood dental on West Lake Houston Parkway. I've been very pleased with the service I've received and everyone there is so nice.

Thanks for the new dentist name. I am keeping a list of of everyone's dentist and going to see if they are on my plan.
