50 coyotes? My wife sent me this from the mom's of kingwood facebook page. I can't think of any reason why there wouldn't be coyotes around here, but I've never actually heard or seen any myself.
We have a large pack close by. They help control rodents, rabbits, deer, and keep the fox and bobcat populations in check. I appreciate that they prey on small mammals that prey on birds, chicks, nests, and eggs. Sometimes they camp out in the pipeline east of the house and sing. I get a kick listening to the puppies. They get so frustrated trying to howl - and can only squeeze out little yips.
The interesting thing about coyotes is that they manage their own populations. We can't really do much about it.
Not only do they have more estrous cycles, but their litters increase in size as well.
I saw one when I was walking my dog on the green belts and told another women I passed by to warn her and be careful. She told me she had been walking the trails for 20 plus years and never saw one…..
When we lived in Woodspring Forest, we could hear coyotes howling at night. Then when we moved to Mills Branch Village we could hear gunshots coming from Woodstream lol. I prefer the coyotes.

My camera picked up a pack of about 4 walking down the middle of our street the other night around 3AM. I haven't heard them howl in my neighborhood, but I know that 3 or 4 can makes sounds like there are a lot more of them. I actually love the sound of them when I'm visiting out in the countryside.
We used to see a pair that walked down our street in Kings River early every morning... Then they built those apartments and since they opened I have not see the Coyotes... I miss them and often wonder what happed to them. I hope they moved off to a safer place... Wish I could scoop them all up and move them to East End... I hate that we are taking away there habitat....
Quinton495 : I think this happens in parts of Houston with other mammals as well.
