Hemorrhaging money F---. I need to vent. 😭 We've spent a thousand dollars in the last 5 days on gasoline, supplies, repair items, portable AC units, fans - the list goes on and on. Every penny we make is spoken for every month so this is literally killing us financially. I know I'm so much better off than most because I have a small generator and portable AC but all I can think of is "How in the hell are we going to financially recover from this?" And we didn't even have major damage!! It's just money spent preparing for the storm and now trying keep us comfortable - ESPECIALLY because with my 87 year old mother in law living here. Yesterday I started to crack. I'm biting my husband's head off every 5 seconds - the man can't breathe without me flipping out and then I break down sobbing. Emotions are so high right now. I smoked 2 pack of cigarettes yesterday 🤦‍♀️ Ugh I'm feeling that right now! Sorry - I have no one to talk to so I just needed to let it out. I'll probably delete this but it's cathartic to just write it down.

StormChaser : All I can say is hang in there friend. It's super stressful, but will work out in the end. Take deep breaths; conditions will improve. Emoticon

StormChaser : Honestly it is easier just to get on the road and go to San Antonio to stay at a hotel. I am not kidding. Internet, AC, access to grocery stores for food etc. you can find $100 hotels, think Drury during the week is $120-$150 and they take dogs!! I understand people stick around in case they have to go to work, but if that discussion is taken before a storm with the manager to work remotely a few days, most managers would understand.

Please take deep breaths, stress is not good for anyone. I'm so sorry about your circumstances. I know it's hard not to lash out at your loved ones, during trying times, but besides God no one loves you more than your family. Please take one day at a time. Prayers for you and your family. 🙏🙏

Big breaths! I am so sorry. Trying times in our lives are very traumatic on us- physically, mentally and emotionally. You've been through a bad storm- little sleep and no power. I'm betting everyone affected is cranky and stressed- so it's ok to feel cranky and stressed.
I have no advice as to how you are going to swallow this financially- been there done that and it's not pretty. Maybe look at your budget and try to squeeze a penny here and there. I call it robbing Peter to pay Paul. 😢. After this is all over - sit down and make a " disaster list" - everything you needed to make it through this and buy those things slowly over time. You got the 2 most expensive things- generator and and AC. Didn't you say the AC you bought doesn't work? Take it back and get a refund. The AC can wait a bit.
Please know you are very important- I'm praying for you
