Remember how the Lake Conroe Association fought 2-foot seasonal lake lowering for years even after downstream people died. Now they're angry about lowering Lake Conroe 5 inches even on a temporary basis. You won't believe the letter they wrote to the City! Check this out. reduceflooding.com/2 024/06/24/lake-conro e-association-compla ins-about-lower

Thanks Bob. First and foremost both Lakes Conroe and Lake Houston were built as water retention reservoirs for COH. Home buyers should be advised by realtors that they are at risk of having docks sit several feet above the water level when weather threatens and the water is lowered, I understand their distress after paying high dollar property taxes for lake front property and have their boats stranded. I think the resolution is for COH to build pipelines to direct floodwaters to the gulf.

Not surprised. The lake was lowered and the big rain didn't come to fill it back up. Better the complaints be about the water level lowering than flooded homes. Hopefully we will get another good rain soon.

Bless his heart! Poor Mr Lacey being left out of discussions which he does not have any control or apparently any expertise.

He definitely has a different perspective than the people who flooded. People rarely put themselves in the others shoes.
If anyone is sufficiently outraged, feel free to join me in sending Kevin Lacey a carefully worded email (his email address is publicly available) at K.Lacy@lcatx.com.

J.Kopecky@lcatx.com If interested in quoting Kevin, his letter can be found here: reduceflooding.com/w p-content/uploads/20 24/06/LCA-Formal-Not ice-of-Breach-o Part of Kevin's job is to be an advocate for Lake Conroe and to support agreements that involve Lake Conroe. But real leaders to need to be able to look beyond agreements, avoid being stereotypical bureaucrats, and just do the right thing for people. Since Kevin takes issue with a breach of the agreement, perhaps we need to push for a modification to that agreement that enables lowering for unique weather events that threaten downstream lives and livelihoods.
