While anyone can fall victim to these very convincing scams, they are particularly devastating to the elderly and other vulnerable members of the community. Constable Herman would like to remind the community that law enforcement and other governmental agencies will never ask for payment with digital currencies like Bitcoin, prepaid credit cards, gift cards, or wire transfers. These forms of payment should be considered suspicious for other types of 'debts' as well. Constable Herman and his Investigators remind all to stop, think, and consider the possibility of a scam before committing to transactions like these.
