Splendora ISD currently has a Competitive Sealed Proposal (CSP) for the construction of the High School Addition identified in the 2022 Bond Program.

This is the third addition to the existing Splendora High School to accommodate 600 new students.

The project consists of a two-story, 33,000 SF academic building, housing 25 new classrooms, 3 flex areas, and a small administration office suite.

The project also includes a redesigned internal courtyard.

Electronic Proposal Documents are available on the Splendora ISD Purchasing Website: trst.in/4X8r5O

CSP Proposal Due Date: Tuesday, 02/13/2024, at 2:00 pm for Base Proposal and 3:00 pm for Alternates, via email to SISD Purchasing Director Jerrod Jacobs (jjacobs@ splendoraisd .org).

Think they have more important issues. These numbers and they have a 94% graduation rate. I don't think an addition will make this a better school.

That exciting building looks more like a very bad low income housing project.

bigcity : Population explosion from the north and the south of us. This kind of population growth is not a good thing. If they keep building 3 story apartment homes here we will literally be on top of each other. We almost already are. It takes forever to get somewhere , and when you do get there, you are literally surrounded by so many other humans you can barely breathe.

The apartment homes at upper Lake and West Lake Houston are soon to house thousands more. Dear God help us all.

Not to mention BIG SCHOOLS, BIG CLASSROOMS. OVERCROWDING is choking us.

Texas1965 : I don't know, I think those core classes are important to master as a kid. I think the older you are the harder it is for you to learn. Kids are like little sponges soaking up all the information they can. Reading is a very important subject. If you can read, you can learn anything you want to.

Ruger5: That many people are moving to the Splendora area from NY, PA, NJ and CA and other parts of Houston? Not trying to be naive. We'll leave it there.

Texas1965 : My first thought it looks like a prison. I understand safety but the second floors and ceilings can be used to capture natural light with windows etc
