Bicyclist killed on 1960 @ Kenswick.

FM 1960 and Kenswick - multiple callers advised there is a body on the road, possibly a male, and multiple people have run over him. There is also a bike on the road. Deputies and EMS were dispatched to the location and confirmed the male deceased. The 4 vehicles that hit him are on scene, and in the McDonald's parking
lot. West bound lanes of FM 1960 are shut down. (6:00am)

This happened a little after 6am....Dark, Rainy, Monday work traffic on a busy multi-lane road with speed limit of 50 mph, with today's "idiot drivers" all over the place....Simply a recipe for disaster....Navigating this would be challenging even in a tank, much less on a bicycle....

mellen : OMG, that is awful! Prayers for this person and for their family.

I was on 1960 at McKay this morning and there was a big dog dead in the road. It was dead and thanks to God I saw it and was able to avoid it. People, bike riders, and dogs just don't belong on that road or any road. Sad!

mellen : Cars leave Lee Road and 1960 and are going at least 50 mph or more. Bicycles are at a risk for even competing on the same roadway as these 2-3 tons of metal monsters go hurling down the road. There needs to be a bicycle path that either paralells 1960 or goes somewhere else.

I used to see lots of bikers going across the h-man /atasca bridge and I would say to myself Good God I hope they make it.
