Media Release - For Immediate Release – 7/25/2023Aggravated Robbery Suspects Apprehended Within 3 Hours.On the evening of July 24th, 2023, around 7:15 pm, a Deputy with Constable Kenneth "Rowdy" Hayden's Office was alerted while conducting a routine neighborhood patrol in Cumberland. The Deputy was approached by a distressed mother who reported that her juvenile son was just “robbed at gunpoint and had his vehicle stolen”.In response to the urgent situation, Pct. 4 Deputies promptly initiated a comprehensive investigation, gathering all available information to swiftly act on the case.Deputies notified neighboring agencies to assist in checking various locations; this coordinated effort led Deputies to an area near FM 1485 & FM 2090, where the stolen vehicle was successfully located, thanks in part to one of the suspects wearing an ankle monitor with GPS tracking.Subsequent to a thorough investigation, the dedicated efforts culminated in the arrest of two juvenile suspects. The search of the vehicle yielded the discovery of illegal narcotics. Constable Hayden commended the swift and precise actions of the Deputies, highlighting their commitment to the safety and well-being of the families residing in and around the precinct.
