Rain chances & drought map A shift in the location of the "heat dome" allowed a "front" to move in yesterday and it should remain stationary over the Houston area today. Expect another hot day, but with scattered afternoon and early evening storms. The upcoming work week looks mostly sunny and hot with daily highs in the upper 90s and an isolated storm or two possible each day. Drought maps: Update drought maps show late May vs current conditions. You can see SE Texas is now experiencing drought conditions but thankfully nothing like west/central TX. Kingwood is on the Abnormally Dry/Moderate drought line that runs through Harris Co. May 30th: July 18th:

StormChaser : Fingers crossed for rain today. I did my part and ran the sprinklers. Now run along and go wash your car will ya? LOL!

I pray the promise of a cold (er) wetter winter holds true. So far it is. The elNino shows no signs of weakening, so that's great! Im hoping to see a shade of blue over the temp map, but it beats last winter's light brown temp map.

Grr. The future radar seems to think all the storms will be south of I-10 this afternoon. Hoping for a miracle though
