@Sonbol : It's been 3 years and has held up better than I thought. Yes there have been a few chips- but very few. And the chips came from floor installation , but nothing from normal wear and tear. I have one coat of bond primer and 2 coats of semi gloss- so it's very durable- even in the sink area
Prep is crucial. The doors and drawers were new so came sanded and ready. I used Kilz Adhesion and the pamphlet said No or very little sanding. I didn't trust that so I did sand the outside, inside and trim and then applied the Kilz Adhesion. That stuff is THE best bonding primer I have ever used- it's pricey but worth it!!
On this new project I've done very little prep ( other than cleaning it) on the stained trim and true to its word- it has bonded like cement. I do have areas that weren't prepped properly( before we moved in and I painted the first time) that were chipping down to the paneling. I sanded those areas down - smoothed it out and applied the Kilz adhesion and it worked like a charm. That stuff is the best .
