@zacpizzy : I'm ok with talking a little from time to time but at least give the other person a few min to speak and at the very least inquire about their life. Even if you don't care at least pretend to care.

@Weathergirl5 : My Gemini friend usually talks for both of us & have to interrupt, since she won't let me talk at all at times. I'm very bad at judging when it's time to talk as well.

@MissAmericanPie : I've known plenty of people like this. Once I get into the "nod my head and uh huh" mode I know its been going on too long. I usually just find some polite excuse to leave.
Worst is when they suddenly ask a question, and I haven't paid attention to anything they've said for the last 15 minutes.

@MissAmericanPie : Being alone and being lonely are two different things.

@HarveyBalwanger : In my quest to handle the situation, I've realized I must not engage him as in don't be too talkative and like an episode of Seinfeld, I talk to myself….DONT ENGAGE HIM, DONT ENGAGE HIM. 😂😂😂

MissAmericanPie : I have known several introverts who were great working and conversing with clients. They would get in the elevator in the morning and mentally think "It's showtime" . Then go home on Friday evening and not talk to anyone all weekend. Being alone is good for you !

@billcherie2 : I am one of these people.

On the general topic: my wife talks too much and she talks fast. She admits it sometimes too.

I have gotten smacked in the car before for saying "Do you feel the need to talk all the time?" when I was in a mood and she failed to let more than 30 seconds of silence go by uninterrupted.

It is very interesting when she runs across someone who can talk both more AND faster than her. It's rare but it is always fascinating to see how she squirms waiting to gey a word in.

@Hit_Bull_Win_Steak : Idk if I could take that long term…it's like they equate lots of talking with some kind of mental relief.

@zuesamy : Lol! It wouldn't work in this situation bc I'm at his home. And he'd just say there's the powder room! 🤣

@MissAmericanPie : Yeah I think its just the opposite for extroverts. They seem to get energized by socializing with others. I'm an introvert like you. I don't mind socializing at all, I just have to have some down time to rest and recharge.

MissAmericanPie : Yes I have a couple friends like this and had a panic attack the other day from too much stimulation while talking with her on the phone & trying to concentrate on my work at the same time; it was a really bad week & was so busy, but much better now. I know if I talk too much, I can physically lose my voice for awhile & my throat gets really dehydrated; also my mind is spinning & can't focus for a long time. I talk much better by texting than in person & mostly listen when doing do, but I won't remember anything well unless I write about it, or hear it again later.

@zacpizzy : I am the same way. I hate talking on the phone. I avoid it as much as possible. I enjoy texting much more. My family knows to just text, we rarely talk on the phone.

@HarveyBalwanger : Yes my friend told me if she doesn't talk to someone in a long time, she gets really stressed out. I'm the opposite and like to hide & talk/laugh with myself 💛🧡

I'm an introvert and it's very taxing…

@MissAmericanPie : I know exactly what you are talking about. Drives me up the wall.

HOWEVER, I know that some people need more conversation than I do. I have tried to use those experiences to work on my small-talk skills which are almost as bad as my spelling issues. Afterwards though, I need a nap to recharge.

@MissAmericanPie : Some days it's too much and I need her to just go away and get some quiet. I really don't know how one can have so much to say.
