MarT : There's a wait time for vaccinations post covid infection. How long ago was his ordeal? Praying for a speedy recovery and the anticipated protection to kick in!

@Ruger5 : He had covid towards the end of Nov, was pretty sick for a month+. From what I read this isn't that uncommon for someone who had it already. They knew his history. Hopefully, he feels better today, it's been 36 hours. We were concerned about him getting covid a 2nd time particularly, because he has scarring on his lungs. 4951

I'm not so sure having had Covid previously has anything to do with a difficult reaction to the shot. I know people who have had bad reactions and they didn't have Covid previously. I think it's just a crap shoot whether or not you'll have a hard or easy time with the vaccine, regardless. DH and I have both had Covid. Mine was mild .. only taste and smell; DH was more severe .. cough, body aches, headache, exhaustion, etc. for almost 2 weeks. We have now both been vaccinated, with ONLY soreness at the injection site for both shots. That's it. The vaccine was almost a non-event for us. So, those of you who have had Covid, please don't feel that it's a given that you will have a bad reaction.

@SandyKnee : That's good news, I had a mild case and will definitely get the vaccine when eligible. 4951

@luannski : My doc said to wait 6 months. She said 3 months is standard, but after seeing patients that had bad reactions having had Covid in the recent months- the practice now recommends waiting 6 months. Which is fine with me, I have no immediate plans to get the shot. I am just over 2 months since I tested positive for Covid.
@MarT prayers that your husband is feeling better soon. 4951

@SomebodyElse : Friends of mine who are both doctors, had COVID last summer. They are waiting to get the vaccine since they already had COVID. Seems like nobody really knows how long those who had the virus need to wait for the vaccine.

Relatives had COVID over Thanksgiving and have had their first dose of the vaccine. No side effects except sore arm. 4951

Covid vaccine after having covid Just an FYI, dh had a pretty serious case of covid and just got his 1st Pfizer shot yesterday. He is miserable. It's covid without the cough for him. Apparently, from what I read, this can happen with people who have had covid. Seems like it shouldn't last long.

@MarT : I've heard that it doesn't last long as well, hoping that's really the case 🙏🏻 4951

@MarT : I hope it is short lived. Does he still have to get both Pfizer shots since he already had covid? 4951

@Max57 : probably for the new strains like UK and South African variant and there have been a few cases of people getting COVID twice, although it is very rare 4951

@ILoveReading : my fiance tested positive for covid this past june but didnt experience any symptoms other than mild chest soreness? Not sure how else to describe it. We were already living together at the time so presumably I got it from her as well because I also felt the chest soreness. We both got the first shot last friday. I felt totally normal and only had arm soreness, but my fiance had body aches/muscle aches for about a day and a half. then she felt normal. I've heard a lot of stories of people that do get symptoms that range from body aches to fever and chills but I haven't heard of anyone that had those symptoms for more than two days after the shot. it seems to last only a short while. hopefully you are among the people that don't feel any side effects! 4951
