@ctl74 : I would say bananas, avocados for their potassium...but you stated you don't like them. So possibly a potassium supplement? As far as liquids, it is recommended that one drinks at least 1/2 their body weight in ounces each day...and that is on a typical day...when you are sweating/exerting yourself you need to up that and add a Gatorade or other electrolyte drink at a 3 to 1 ratio with water. I hope you feel better. 4951
There are 4 electrolytes- people know about 2 as has been covered here - magnesium and potassium . Calcium and sodium are the other 2- so make sure you are getting your recommended daily allowances for those also. And staying properly hydrated is a given BUT too much water can dilute electrolytes too. A good rule of thumb is water for the first hour of exercise and water with an electrolyte for any additional hour(s) of exercise. I use NUNN tablets ( sold at HEB) because they have a good balance of electrolytes without the sugar( it upsets my stomach and is not needed) 4951
Magnesium and potassium pills. You shouldn't be getting them if you aren't deficient in one or both. And if you are taking calcium supplements, take K2 (even Tums) to keep it out of your arteries. Calcium in a contractor, magnesium & potassium are relaxers.
