@Marhopper3 : Now you're making me want to take a trip back to Kentucky. I haven't been there in over a year. Suddenly I also don't dislike the idea of living in Lexington at some point in the future. Lexington is low key a very nice city. 4951

I haven't been there in a year either. I want to go soon, they've reopened James E. Pepper, which was a distillery that my grandfather had a hand in starting way back when. True story, he was a church deacon and his church approached him about working for the distillery, how sinful it was, so he left JEP and became the president of Kentucky Utilities. 😂

The new owner has added a restaurant and museum to the place and he'd like to have all the things we have from the original place. I don't mind copying pictures for him but I've got some cool things that he isn't getting until I die, that decision will be left up to my kids. 4951

@Marhopper3 : This might get political on a non political post which isn't my intention, but do you think Kentucky re-elects Gov. Bevin this year? I really can't tell how to read the state. It traditionally would elect Democratic Governors, state cabinets and state representatives, even up until 2015-2016, but then Bevin defeated Conway in 2015, despite Conway being in the perfect mold of a traditional Kentucky Governor: a moderate Democrat. That said, I know the teachers are unhappy with the Governor, but perhaps a "silent majority" of Kentuckians will come out to support him this November? 4951

@BostonAC : I don't know much about the politics there anymore but I know about 95% of my friends and family are/were Democrats.

I also did Phyllis George Browns photos, she was a snob, I actually took pictures of her skirt up around her head after landing in a helicopter once, granny panty shot. 😂 Things were different back then, you'd never dream of leaking a photo like that and disrespecting anyone, so I destroyed it and the film. 4951

@Marhopper3 : It's definitely hard to say because the state has sort of always been conservative, but it's almost more socially conservative than fiscally conservative? There's definitely a little bit of a populist spirit there to some degree. Kentucky electing a Democratic Governor even four years ago wouldn't have shocked me. I just can't tell if the state has shifted pretty heavily into the GOP column to the point where it might no longer vote Democratic, even for Governor- which it did for seemingly forever. 4951

@BostonAC : I'll read up on it, it's hard enough to keep up with Texas politics most of the time. 😂 4951

@Marhopper3 : Hahahaha Texas Politics at the state level can be summarized as the game of "will Republicans win by 3 points or 33 points?" At the Harris County level, it seems it's becoming, "can Republicans still win countywide at all?" 4951

Several states, for several reasons and/or seasons.

Florida during spring, before the beaches get crowded during the summer months.
Colorado during winter, for all the snow, and winter activities.
Maine to Connecticut during fall, when the leaves are changing.
North Carolina, at any time during the year, since there's beaches and mountains. 4951

Favorite Non Texas State What is your favorite Non-Texas state, and why? I've been to 37 states, and I'd like to make all 50 one day! If I have to start, I'll say Florida.

@BostonAC : State of Confusion followed by State of Intoxication.
If it's a state, it too is probably FL. For about 6 months I lived in Jacksonville, FL about 25 years ago. I liked it. A visit to the Fort Myers/Cape Coral area about 15 years ago sold us on the gulf coast. Have done the Orlando, Disney/Universal studio, no, no, no. The other area we liked was Tampa/St Pete/Clearwater. I visited my aunt and uncle in the capital Tallahassee but that was over 40 years ago and didn't get around much so I don't have an opinion.
If it were "anywhere" in the US, it may be St Thomas USVI. It's not St. Martin/Maarten but close enough and still part of the US. 4951

@Joe1938 : I've been to Colorado twice. What strikes me is how hot it can be during the day while simultaneously being cold at night. 4951
