Aldi is great. Who cares if it caters to people on a budget. Who are you, Oliver Warbucks?

@Riverboat: I'm just an HEB/Randall's fan. I've been to Aldi and personally don't care for it at all. I'm also not a Dollar Store fan either. Not downing anyone who loves either or both. They just aren't my thing. 4951

whenever you see the parade of cars from porter, new caney and humble.....

@nycoil I doubt it was built to pull from those demographics. I'd bet 90 percent of the customers will be from KW. Maybe not from the neighborhoods with million dollar flooded homes, but just us other KW folks. 4951

@TOPSTAR

It is a running joke on this board that Aldi and Dollar Tree will be the downfall of Kingwood, bringing in all sorts of riff-raff and destroying property values. We all know that 95% of the shoppers there will be Kingwoodians. 4951

@buffaloglenn Dollar Tree has a secret VIP section on the roof...you can see the KWCC fireworks from there. 4951

@buffaloglenn LOL yes I get the joke. It is an odd concept for the area though. I use the one in Ata on the way home as a convenience store. Quick in and out. I am always amused at the look alike packaging they use. Surprised they get away with some of it. 4951

Ok...I have never shopped at Dollar store. I was at Steinmart so I thought I would check it out. Yes...some stuff was worth a dollar but some stuff was a good deal! I got several nice christmas gift bags, tissue paper, etc for a $1 each, and some other things that cost more in WalMart/target.... I was impressed. Will go in on a regular basis. Spent about $18 and felt like I had a darn good amount of stuff for that amount. 4951
