@Fallon Yeah, no doubt, but this looks like it was really fast and a short way from the intersection.

@ET: Um, maybe they had the green light going through the intersection so already had speed? All I know is that, while it's human nature to wonder how it happened, it isn't right to speculate how it happened or make assumptions or place blame until the known facts come out. It's a waste of time and energy, too!

@ET:
I guess if they came straight down Kingwood and the light was green you could work up some speed.  Terrible. 4951

Looking at the photos its apparent the vehicles were traveling east bound on Kingwood Dr. and the accident occurred just before the bridge over the stream before the trees open up a bit for West Lake Houston.Woodland Hills, the nearest intersection is about 2 miles back from the accident scene. 4951

Slower is not better, how bout driving the speed limit? I see plenty of older, 40-70yr old drivers driving under the speed limit, talking on the phone making it just as unsafe. But it's always the other people right? Please! 4951

This is very sad, prayers for both families. There is no need to rush getting somewhere where you are already late! As my late grandmother would say, "You should have left yesterday"! 4951

The dark car impacted on the front.  Did it hit the other car or something else? 4951

I will never understand the need to speed down kingwood or any other street in kingwood just to get to the next redlight... I laugh and point at idiots all day that do this its just so seemingly STUPID! 4951

@Retired_Engineer: The initial report is that it "clipped" the other car.  Clearly that is either inaccurate or it also careened out of control and hit something else pretty hard.

My daughter had an encounter with the grey car a few nights ago when she was driving home down KW Drive. She came in that night all worked up because she said the car was driving crazy, weaving in and out of traffic and then stopped and "waited" for her.Then they turned on their turn signals based on what she was doing behind them. They turned into our neighborhood and turned off the headlights and pulled into the first cul de sac in our neighborhood. As she drove by, they turned their lights back on and pulled out behind her. She's been told to never drive to our house if she ever feels like she's being followed so she kept making right turns (driving in circles lets you know if you're actually being followed) until they went away. She called to let me know she was coming in and then told me this story INCLUDING that it was this Tom Peacock Cadillac loaner car. Very strange, if in fact it is this same person. Sounds like it's a strong possibility. 4951

@robertkingwood: This is why things like this happen.We have a lot of people on this site complain about people going slow on kw dr. Yet EVERY TIME I drive there I go around 45-50 which is over the speed limit and people are tailgating me or passing me like I am not even moving.Yes, potentially, slow drivers can cause accidents, but if they do it is likely to be minor. It's the idiots that try to get around slower drivers (often going at speed limit or over) that cause these tragedies. Some people here have stated that they will cut off slow drivers. This is what happens!If you wait behind a slow driver the worst that can happen is you are a little late (the difference in time going 40mph and 60 mph from WLH to 59 is no more than 2 minutes, do the math!)Fast drivers cause more and worse accidents than slow ones. And I am not a slow driver, btw. I normally go 5 - 10 mph over speed limit. The complaining about slow drivers is what bugs me. Take it easy on the roads, they don't belong to you! Slower IS better!

call the police and report this @kmac3

@angiekaye:

That was my first instinct, but I'm not sure what it would do for this case.... I was thinking it could show a pattern of reckless/suspicious behavior, however, could they PROVE anything by this? She couldn't identify the driver, you know? Just the car... 4951
