donnatella : Extremely well said. This is exactly why I only donate to United Way and Salvation Army. They make certain help reaches the truly needy. My family was the recipient of Salvation Army a time or two during my growing up years. Let's just say my parents could have - should have done a better job of providing. They abused the system from time to time through the years and my uncles & aunts definitely abused it for many years. Embarrassed me as a child, disgusts me to no end as an adult. Anyhow, this particular time we were stranded in winter- traveling to stay with family - no food, no gas. They fed us, put us up in a hotel for two days, filled the old jalopy with gas, gave a food voucher good only at a certain grocery store & sent us on our way…….. baloney Sammie's on soft white bread..yum!
