petronoluem : The "conversation on a bigger stage" is meaningless in the whole scheme of things. I don't have the data from the "interest chart" but do agree yesterday did bring about a lot of conversation. A lot of that conversation was among the folks who resent Trump - who were in the minority of voters in November 2024. Yesterday was more a show put on by the minority as they exercised their right to peacefully protest. If you add all who protested nationwide yesterday, it was probably just a fraction of those who voted for the changes we are seeing - which are consistent with what many (the majority) voted for. I don't expect to see any changes as a result of the protests. Other than giving the minority an opportunity to demonstrate their disagreement, the next 3 1/2 years will proceed as generally planned.

Texvette : The majority of people did not vote for Trump. And the changes you are seeing are just an illusion because nothing has been legislated. Which kind of the point - he's acting like a monarch and the GOP has bended the knee.

Try not to be easily staggered. The examples were not primarily about "what about". Look deeper and engage in self reflection.

My point was the hypocrisy- primarily about the money behind this event. The "No Kings " charade was merely an endeavor to protect their own kingdoms.

The self reflection I hope participants engage in is, "Did I fall for it?" And, "Did I unwittingly help support kingdoms of groups that have not earned or deserved my support, or even groups I do not support ."

You're a good poster, by the way. You normally have good takes on issues.

petronoluem : The majority of the people that actually voted cast their vote for Trump. Those who decided not to vote, for whatever reason, can't legitimately complain about the current state of affairs.

The legislation to cement many of the changes so seriously needed is on the way. At least many existing laws - especially related to immigration, that were completely ignored by the prior administration are now being enforced.
