teatime : Omg I am so sorry for your friend and yes it highlights the issues we special needs parents have at home. I could not work full time because we never knew when the school would call because of a meltdown. Please relay to your friend she is not alone !

LittleTexas please never put a stranger in your car. Years ago my cousin did that trying to help out a guy. The guy just wanted a ride. he ended up killing my cousin and played tic-tac-toe on his leg. Cops couldn't believe how deep the cuts were on his leg. Took them eight years to find the murderer. And then the jury only gave him eight years in prison. You cannot trust anyone you don't know. Please be very, very careful.

CaffeineFree : His name is Freddie, we look after him too. He is a good, clean, guy who lost his leg due to an automobile accident 20 years ago. He panhandles for just enough money to allow him to stay in one of the local cheap hotels. He is always very polite and very grateful for everything he is given…He doesn't appear to take drugs or alcohol.. just a guy doing his best under the circumstances. We pray for him.

I understand he has to find $60 per day to remain in the hotel. I don't mind ensuring he has a roof over his head and if panhandling is the only way of doing it do be it. He causes no one any harm.
