Ruger5 : I saw no proof. Sounds like fake fox news to me

olemiss1968 : These kids are being prompted to do this……..behind the scenes leftist political machine at work. GUARANTEE IT

Ruger5 : I think that ....the "popular" thing to do now is protest against ICE. They very likely may not fully understand what all this is about. Teenagers typically focused on themselves and their friend base. Easily influenced and intimidated.

Ruger5 : Ok. I know it's been a while since you were a high school senior, but news flash for you they lean left, and don't need a ******** political machine to tell them what to do.

olemiss1968 : This is where one would insert common sense. Someone planted the seed on allowing kiddy snow days so as to puff up protest crowd size. It's how dems roll. That said, I have neither the desire nor the patience to engage you on this matter and so I won't. I know that won't stop you from seeking my attention tho, just cant help yourself. Have fun talking to yourself because I will neither be reading nor responding with you on this again.

buffaloglenn : Lol of course they lean left. The leftist powers that be will now use kiddie snow days to pump up protest crowd size for every dem protest coming down the pike in all left leaning school districts across this land. They will because they can. That aside there's the thousands of paid protestors cross this land. When ya cant create a movement you pay for one.

cbear : Not easily intimidated - that is your not so educated opinion. Remember that little thing called the Vietnam era. Nothing new in kids caring more about people than grouchy old white people who haven't picked up a book in decades but are experts on everything. Please keep the forums civil. Gray box info   Details+Dispute

buffaloglenn : I respectfully disagree with both your comment about "your not so educated opinion" of me and teenagers being intimidated. Peer pressure is very much alive out there. These kids want to be liked and to fit in.

buffaloglenn :
You very clearly demonstrated my point with "Remember that little thing called the Vietnam era". It has little to do with political beliefs and everything to do with "Well, all my friends are doing it so it must be right". I think that you are giving moldable teenagers far too much credit for independant thinking.

cbear : Ok, so maybe you are educated, but like Ruger5 :, completely out of touch with kids today. You are going off what you remember from decades ago. Sure, kids like to be liked and included, but if you think the kids at K-park especially, and Kingwood as well don't have friends who are concerned about goon squads showing up to arrest them or their families, you are out of touch with today's reality. I've conversed about this with one of my boys, a recent graduate, who has friends with concerns about their parents getting cuffed and stuffed.

cbear : I have two friends who were at Kent State when the students were executed. I've picked their brains over it, and how they reflect on it. They did not protest because they thought it was the cool thing to do. Just because you can't understand why someone would feel motivated to spend time protesting something, doesn't mean those people doing the protesting are just trying to be cool, or even more laughably, paid to do so.

buffaloglenn : Credit given. Nothing like this has ever happened to this magnitude. The deportation issue touches everyone. I have a few friends who are business owners and of my age. They lost workers to deportation and had to re-assess. They themselves had to temporarily step in and do they work formerly done by their workers. There again, this circles back around to them. They are concerned with their friends. Do they completely understand the bigger picture vs just concerned about their friends? Mine are in their 30.
