How will school dismissal work now? My daughters' daycare called WHE and the school told them they won't be releasing kids until this is over. At this rate, it'll be well after school ends. Do they hold the kids at the school past 4pm? My middle schooler at KMS usually walks home, we're a couple houses down from this so I'm leaving work early to make sure I can pick him up instead if it isn't over, whenever that may be.

everyone needs to stay out of the area, and keep the roads clear. better your child is safe inside the school building, sheltered, and you are, too. flying bullets don't have names on them.

I don't think so. My middle schooler read my message from this morning, but hasn't responded. Unlike him. I texted again maybe 15 mins ago and he hasn't read it yet. There's some teachers at WHE in one of the FB groups that always chimes in with WHE related questions, and I haven't seen any of them comment. Maybe they'll let them once school hours are over.

KPRC Ch 2 and other news stations ought to post something soon, but will probably be on their apps or streams, so check there. they are all sending reporters to the scene. Supposedly began as serving a warrant, but has now morphed into the person refusing to exit., though given ample chance. No idea if they are alone, as of yet, but the news will prob catch more details and report them. Stay tuned....

Realitycheck : just started this year they can't use phones during school. They don't need to necessarily know what's going on right now.... there's no threat to the schools it's just a precaution hisd is taken due too police activity in the area... this is info I got from a HC DEPUTY i know
