We came from a small town that only had one electric and one gas provider I didn't even know you could pick when we moved , how long our contract is either
cbear : Oh not at. In main part of house we have that huge picture window, and one in kitchen that allows us to look out at the sun, but the way house is situated (and the covered patio) we get no direct sun during heat of day…….only as sun is setting. That's a plus. The AC's aren't struggling to cool what the sun aint heating. These windows in the den area are amazing with solar screens. Plenty of light without the sun's awful heat. The sun room is encased in windows but we use black out curtains there in dead of summer. Two things I highly recommend - solar screens, dehumidifier.
WTF : I'm think so , our attic is never as hot as I expect it to be and we have the cover thing on the attic door that has to be zipped open. There's 5 of us living here 3 are 13 and under and I worked from home a lot last month but I didn't expect it to double 😅
Your rate is decent. Usage was a lot. This was mine...
Ruger5 : I've wondered about using my dehumidifier. I figured that it used electricity too though so I wasn't sure if there would be much of a benefit.

WTF : How long have you had this? Is it across the board or only for first 2k then jumps to a larger fee? Quite impressive!
It's a 2 year rate and expires in January

Electric bills Ugh. I got mine today. The billing cycle ended over a week ago and my bill was still $285.00 for a 2800 Sq ft house. 😬 AND we have decent rate! Almost afraid to open it next month!
Ruger5 : Gotta read all the fine print in the Energy Facts Label

Look at those numbers. The usage at 500, 1000 and 2000 average price per kWh…pfffft! 10.9c? Nope, it's 19.3c before you get the $50 off bs.. you have to add the 15.6 and the 3.7 to get the real rate..the fact that they knock off $50 is proof the fees are high and they could be lower. Instead they do all those BS credits.
