My sister is considering Darst Funeral Home, Kingwood Funeral Ho

Kittle : Rosewood in Humble did a HORRIBLE job all around handling my sweet friend's burial. Her appearance was wet, greasy combed back what little hair she had and Ruby red lipstick. They put her in the wrong plot and had to move her. They were very rude to me when I went out to sit with her. Said I couldn't have a folding chair that I brought to sit in. I could go on.. but my BP is climbing.
My sister is considering Darst Funeral Home, Kingwood Funeral Home, and Brookside for pre need planning for burial, not cremation. Brookside as served our family needs well however we have no experience with Darst or Kingwood funeral homes. Any recommendations?
Kittle : We have 4 plots at Brookside, and have paid for our caskets, grave markers, grave linings, etc.
CaffeineFree : Great planning such as you have done makes it easier for those dealing with arrangements after your death. Graveside services are the best imo. My family knows I hate funerals and want only a brief graveside farewell.

I've had good experiences at Darst and Rosewood.
grinchy : my mom used mcnutt for her preplanning cremation and they were great. I did get a little annoyed with the attempted upselling with a complete slide show..but they were totally fine with us sticking to our mom's written wishes.

Kittle : I used Brookside in November, 2024. Wasn't handled very well. The podium we requested was not available, my brother's portrait did not arrive on time, and only about 1/4 of the pictures we submitted were included in the slide show. This was the fourth of my family's funeral. The earlier ones were just fine. Oh, and the candle we received had "Brain" instead of "Brian" on the paper label.
