billcherie2 : Close enough. Spam is pork shoulder and ham. Hotdogs are a grab bag of the crappier cuts of chicken, pork, beef, etc. Unless you get good hot dogs. 😆

Forget It… if you have more than 10 items to pick up at H-E-B just forget it and eat what is already in your fridge and cabinet. Really only Monday is going to be too icy to probably get out but H-E-B is a circus at North Park
LittleTexas : Did my Curbside pickup this afternoon! Lady that brought out my groceries said it has been SWAMPED today! It's probably going to be nuts tomorrow too.

Zakangel : Yes, I was in both Kroger and HEB at 59/NP area, about noon. HEB was a Zoo, but Kroger was normal and such an easy trip. Not only is it weekend shopping, might be payday shopping for some, and then, you Add the Great Ice Event(ish) of '26, and it is the trifecta of insanity, at the stores. I am done, and avoided buying one or two items, as I Knew I had all I could eat/needed, to last for ample time. There was a funny video of a lady on the news who was eating her 3rd sandwich of the day, Today, and had consumed Most of what she bought, For the storm, Already! :D
SMH. C'mon peeps. I lived there for 21 years and it took me 2 months to figure out that I needed to prep and stay prepped for whatever Mother Nature had to throw at me. I still stay prepped. If something happened here ( which is unlikely unless it's sun 2" from the ground) I'd have enough food for at least a month. We'd probably run out of fresh fruit( except citrus) and veggies first. I don't miss the weather or the people who don't keep more than a days worth of food
Labslady : It's beyond ridiculous. It's TWO days, lol lol lol.People have stacks of TP in their carts. Who doesn't keep extra TP to last TWO days. 😭😭😭
MissAmericanPie: i actually got wierd looks at HEB, in line with Twisters cookies and an apple. " oh my, will she Survive?!" Looks like it's across the United States where everywhere the storm is touching because the national news was talking about the crowds at the grocery stores in the South,too!

muffy: I have an Ohana friend who makes a Spam fried rice that is fabulous; with a touch of pineapple and a little bit of asian spices in it ,it is so good!

MissAmericanPie : Heck I go to Costco and their TP lasts us over 2 months- when half of the TP is gone I buy more. Lol after the pandemic I learned my lesson 🤣
Sophos2 billcherie2 : I'll starve before I eat Spam. My Mom served that and I gagged every time. The last time I threw up. My Mom served me another piece and I said no. I gladly went to bed hungry that night and Mom never served it again.

Donnawisdom : Don't ever buy it. I bought a can last year and took it out and I thought this is so nasty looking, but everybody says it's good so I took a bite of it was terrible so then I thought I'd fry it. It was even worse. Took a bite of that took it outside for the stray cat. The stray cat came by. She ate a little of it, but that was it. I had to throw it away. I would never buy that again. « Back to Chat
