I've known Colton since he was 3 and this is completely out of character for him. The "victim" started this by shooting at the Heron's car. Their daughter was also with them and had glass in her hair. The "club" Colton used was a free plastic bat like the Astros would give out. They were trying to detain someone who had threatened their family. The victim has a long criminal record. I don't imagine channel 13 will issue any corrections to their story but it's important that Kingwood knows what really happened.

Limey : So, the real story is that they didn't arrest the guy that shot out windows, and who has a long criminal history, but also a gun in his car, and instead arrested the other two individuals involved? How does that make any sense? I'm trying to see how anyone rationalizes that. They may be great people, but chasing someone down, who "threatened your family" instead of driving away and calling the police, again, makes ZERO sense.

Is it really impossible to believe the police did a less than thorough investigation on Christmas Day? I agree. I tell my own daughter and husband not to engage with idiots on Kingwood roads and they are legion. Don't stare. Don't flip them off. Drive somewhere safe. But I am not sure what my husband would do if someone shot at our car and my daughter was covered in glass. I imagine the Heron's were arrested because they did everything the story said they did. Drew did stop the car. Colton did hit the man with a plastic novelty bat. But it was done because the "victim" started everything. The family has a lawyer and will be fighting the charges. Expect them to be dropped eventually.

Limey : It is nearly impossible for me to believe the police did not arrest someone who shot out another car's windows. Christmas Day, or any day.Any father who has the easy opportunity to drive away to safety, after allegedly having windows shot out, but instead pursues the gunman, is either a few bricks short of a load or a complete hothead, who puts his own rage ahead of his family's safety.

THANK YOU!! It's very hard when the media only shares a fraction of the circumstances that actually occurred, and making a family out to look horrendous. I hope that folks will choose kindness over jumping to share premature details that can alter a humans life forever by folks behind their keyboard, and just living to type and engage over someone else's circumstances. Also, keeping in mind we are discussing a minor in this equation. From what I've heard, this is a very good family, so be a little giving before everyone jumps to make vile comments via " their keyboard, and a username". You never know when the script will switch, and your family member could be in a similar situation. Life happens….BE KIND
