Donnawisdom : I had shingles at age 8 or 9. Really. My parents thought it was poison ivy but when poison ivy treatment didn't work they called the doctor. Doctors made house calls back then, so our doctor came to our house and said it was shingles. He said it was rare for a child to have shingles but it did happen, and this definitely was shingles. One side of the body, followed a nerve line. I remember those blisters hurt!

I'm sorry to hear that he has shingles. Hope he gets some relief, and starts feeling better soon. My DH had a bad case of it years ago, before he turned 50, so I think it can really happen at any age.

So far he had only one blister. They actually checked to make sure it was shingles.

Donnawisdom: my 1 month old baby had shingles ! Probably what it is

Kaylagirl: my kids got chickenpox first my baby was 1 month old and he got chicken pox . Then when my first son got shingles when he was in middle school and I got them and my husband and grandparents it was horrible

Please get him into see a Dr. I hope it is not shingles but something simple a cream can take away.

Did that immediately and got meds sent to the pharmacy. I was pretty sure it was shingles.

Yea I know 😢 DD had a ton of work stress- she got it, DS is like your son and hasn't come down with it 🤷‍♂️. But the virus lingers in all of us who have had it and just pops up whenever it feels like it. 🤬.

My son is 36 and got shingles this last year. He was lucky and had a few small patches. It was his body's response to the stress and sadness of his father passing away, and the few 6 months the kids Did get to spend around him., since he chose to move away and stay there, rarely visiting. There is a shingles vaccination he may be able to get, well after his bout subsides. There are meds a doctor can give him to help, but it will just go away on its' own, as it showed up. He is not "too young" to get it, but I hope he heals quickly and they can help him with the pain.
