icare : I don't care what you guys do over there. But to me It feels like advertising when you ask people to come to your business where they will be asked to give money. I know lots of churches are struggling to get people in the doors these days.

ZMAN : Well, icare doesn't say if he or she is a church employee trying to sell memberships. If a regular member of the forum said they just wanted to let people know about a free event at Planet fitness in case they were interested (as happens on here with different specials, deals, and events all the time) it wouldn't be spam. I know that you enjoy sparring with folks and to be honest a lot of times you make me laugh. I raised two sons that inherited their dad's caustic wit so I have an appreciation for it. But I also let them know when I think they crossed a line. At the same time, I think Christians should check themselves and realize that when they make snide comments about other faiths that aren't Christians that it is equally inappropriate. As an example if a Muslim came here to invite people to join them in fasting for Ramadan or a Hindu invited us to the temple there are Christains here that would probably mock them as well. So I use these opportunities to remind myself of my own shortcomings and stand up for others . Just because I may not wish to attend doesn't affect my appreciation that others do.
