New Rules Jeep Weekend

ZMAN : Have you ever gone to a jeep weekend, Mardi Gras, etc?

ZMAN : The event is no longer "Jeep Weekend" on the Bolivar Peninsula. The jeep event moved to Surfside.More and more "non-jeepers" were crashing the Bolivar event. It cast a bad light on the folks that were part of jeep clubs & groups. It became a haven for folks to drink, do drugs, fight, steal, shoot firearms, drive carelessly, etc., etc.Based on the size of the Peninsula, and the thousands of folks that would show up to party (many with ill intent), it has resulted in the show of law enforcement support that is now deployed.

ZMAN : What do you drive?

ZMAN : Samesies. But when I have to, my jacked up jeep gets me from point A to point B with no problem. 😉

And it begins.

I thought it used to be for folks who want to go topless.

Slow4x4 : Oh wow! In most situations I'd disagree with this level of hard-assness but in this situation it's definitely warranted. Something had to be done to tame the insanity and this sheriff seems to be on the right track.
