My son was also told He wouldn't go D1. He wouldn't be able to get into a certain college. Well he proved them wrong Playing D1 football & going to an Ivy league school. It's the hard work you put into. Nothing else. Unless you are Rich in which we are not. He gotHimself into himself Ivy League school no one else. Proud ofHim & my kid. However I disagree highly on calling kingwood racist. We are not raising racist kids.

This young man told his story about his childhood and gave examples of the racism he endured while going to school and living and Kingwood that molded him into who he is today. Yet there are still a number of posters just insisting that there is no racism in Kingwood. Astounding.

Heathur :
You might be attaching a label and meaning that isn't there. The kid that is the subject of the article did not call it racist. He just described the banter to the other high school kid who wrote the article. That kid didn't even call it racist.

There's a good chance that they didn't call it racist because they know context matters. These kids may have been friends with each other and just recognize it as the type of banter that some groups use to build resilience. The fact that the kid in the article actually used it to build resilience suggests it worked.

Heathur : Racism is everywhere in everyone of every color. Period. It just seems like accusing people of teaching their kids to actually BE racist is outlandish. Most people know better.

It's now become a political football that has muddied the waters.

We are all made in the spiritual image of God. The body is the temple for the spirit. When we make our transition the body remains on earth returning to dust.
