Cbear : So someone tortures and kills another human and the taxpayer gets to subsidize her for the rest of her life - under better conditions than our homeless, ill and elderly get?? A person can go out and murder someone and live on the taxpayers $$$ for decades while the parents suffer more anguish and heartbreak when they see their child's barbaric killer is living long after she's been convicted and sentenced - knowing part of their taxes are keeping a monster alive?? What if the victim was your child? I'll follow the bible, thank you!!!

Sunnycl : Thanks for your response. I always have believed in it. The last several years I have had a stronger belief in God, and feel closer to him... I guess you could say. So I just wondered if it was wrong to still believe in the death penalty. I always hear about Christians forgiving people that murdered their children and things like that. And I think..... no way could I ever. And I think many Christians just feel that killing is never right no matter what, even when the justice system sentences someone to death. It is interesting to know how other people feel about it.
Kaylagirl : I don't think I could forgive someone either but I suppose we are supposed to. Even If the family forgives it does not mean the justice system should let it go. A punishment still has to be had.

rocklady2024 : I think for the hospital she is being kept alive for the money they will get. Also, I think the lawyers are most likely trying their best to keep her alive for the same reason, money! They probably have it tied up in court. I have not heard anything about Pikes family. I have to wonder what her family thinks of it all.

TEXASGIRLMAMMA : See, I would think the opposite....costing the hospital money. Anyway, this is a lose/lose. So many people hurt and will never forget.
