With the one in town center, I've always had excellent help and $300 co-pay but I guess it depends on what insurance each has.
Wait till you start getting bills for X-rays then bills from the doctor. I went there with insurance and started getting extra bills hospital their bill the ER doctor sent me his bill because he was out of network (it was an emergency) I thought he would have been covered since he worked at the hospital. Then extra for blood work X-rays). This was with insurance and started. My portion. Was over $2000
The place by HEB is a legit Memorial Hermann ER. We use the Urgent care by Walgreens when it is urgent care but not emergency. I am very thankful for the ER there...we have used it twice.
Glad to hear you now understand the difference between Urgent Care & Emergency Care. I also learned the difference "the hard way" several years ago. From what I read: - the child swallowed an object and was showing some signs of distress
- upon examination, as well as understanding what the object was, the emergency
care physician used his professional judgment to determine that the best
treatment and care was for the child to "pass" the object I'm not surprised the total bill was in the neighborhood of $700 for emergency care. I assume you paid out-of-pocket since many health insurance programs
pay the cost after a set deductible ($200-$300 for example). Urgent Care, on the other hand, has a significantly less deductible ($35-$50 for example). We have used this facility for emergency care a couple of times and were extremely pleased with their emergency care service. We have also used the Memorial Hermann Urgent Care facility by the HEB off of Northpark and were very impressed with the urgent care they provided.

Thank you. I am retired and worked for Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital for 8 years in Humble. I honestly did not know that there is an urgent care up front. Good to know! Thanks again! I haven't ever been loyal to a pcp.
