What is the reason for IAH's huge TSA wait times (like 4 hours)

Our airline just texted this morning to arrive EIGHT hours prior to our flight. A bit extreme but being an international flight maybe they want to make sure no one misses the flight. We are aiming still for a 5 hour wait tomorrow.

Holy moly talk about jet lagged- y'all are going to be exhausted. We fly overseas next week- so far the longest wait time at Sky Harbor has been 15 minutes the last few days. We have pre check and touchless and are still aiming together to the airport 4 hours early. We have lounge access so we can hang there.

Guessing JFK and LAX don't have 2 TSA checkpoints closed in 2 terminals or have 39% of their staff calling in because they have to work another job or can't afford childcare because they are not getting paid.

Well, well NBC news reported that Kansas City Airport uses contract TSA agents rather than federal agents. They get paid.

No not Clear but Touchless- if you have a passport and TSA precheck and Global Entry some airlines ( United, Delta, Alaska and maybe one other) will allow you to sign up for Touchless through the airline app( you need to have your passport registered with the airline.)Then when you get to security you look for the Touchless line within TSA precheck go up to the kiosk look into the camera and then proceed through the scanner. It's a facial recognition system. Hubs uses it when he flies and he said there is little to no waiting. He's used it in his travels the last few weeks and has waited less than 2 minutes over 4 trips.
