I don't get why people protest ? Okay don't start yelling at me

I would like to see protest organizers get more organized as we saw in some of those examples.People who organize modern protests and participate in them are understandably fueled by the Civil Rights era of protesting. But that desire ends there as a shallow homage. The biggest distinction and void in modern protesting is that civil rights protests had leaders that enforced strict discipline. They prepared attendees with nonviolence training, dress codes, message control, and had clear centralized leadership. Modern protesting is much more diluted and chaotic. Weak organization leaders prioritize inclusion and individual expression. That can sound good in theory (morally appealing), but it produces mixed messaging, chaos, and public optics that opponents can easily exploit (aka institutionally weak). One incident of bad behavior becomes the headline because many leaders on both sides of an issue thrive on polarization.

msuz : They might just be……but when I think there's been no protest against allowing uncontrolled millions into our country and the killings of our citizens at the hands of many of these ….. (My heart still bleeds for the 12 year old Houston Girl raped and murdered ……and the countless others at the hands of those allowed in……..just not right. America is safer when we close the borders and know who we rightfully decide to let in. Why is this a problem? Why are we protesting safety?

because relatively few are actually violent crimes - I've seen stats that show immigrants are actually less likely to have been violent than 'citizens'!

msuz : I'll say it gain, we are safer as a country with protected borders. You forget human traffickers, the thousand and thousands killed from Fyntenal alone, coming from across the border. It's not just a precious lives taken at the hands of these violent thugs…..look at the thousands of violent gang members that until ICE began hunting them down were reaping havoc on neighborhoods. Even taking over apartment buildings. There's a big picture here you are glossing over.

A class in classless behavior, rude and untrue. But that's the result of emotions run amuck.
Just like spitting and attack ICE officers. There is a pattern.

Why do people protest? Because they can. (At least for now?)And as an American, I'm so very very happy with that fact. Why are people so quick to belittle that constitutional right?

Well the weather was nice so I guess it was a way to get out and enjoy the weather and see if anyone showed up. Just a thought.
