TXSunDvl :
Northpark is good but REALLY expensive and they upsell like crazy. I had a cat that needed a tooth removed. Their quote was $1200! My vet in Cleveland did it for less than $300. Long involved story on why this cat was there instead of my regular vet.

WWdiver :
Northpark will always use anesthesia when doing dental work.

My regular vet did too. It's the difference in corporate greed and private practice

OBSD68 : That is odd and definitely not our experience there. They do take them out of the room to draw blood but every vet I have been to has done that but we have always had our results of fecal and hw at the appointment with City Vet. Was this when they first opened or maybe they had an equipment issue?

Miro2019 : When we went to CityVet several months ago, the same thing happened. They had to send out the heart worm, but called with the result. They told us that they "forgot" to do his fecal and would do it at his "followup visit". After the $500+ bill for an annual checkup and immunizations, we opted out.

StormChaser : Just curious to know why you don't like Kings Crossing vets

Orangeapple : They are incredibly expensive in comparison to others in the area. Plus, I feel like they order ever test under the sun to be able to charge for it.

StormChaser : I'm so sorry that happened. Did you address it with the staff?

Cl1974 :

I mentioned it to the front desk and they blew me off.

Since that was my first & only interaction with them, I had no desire to use their services after that, so we left.

Yeah sounds like my experience there.

Also, I won't use the vet on NP by Stop N Go. I took my 24 year old cat there to be put down about 15 years ago. She was dying of kidney failure. They quoted me $500 because "I wasn't an existing patient"

She was in bad shape, so I had to use them that day, but I felt like they took advantage of the situation just to get $$$

That is pathetic! It sure sounds like a money grab. I'm sorry that happened to you and your kitty.

I suggest the Porter Animal clinic in 1314. They spend all the time need, explains things clearly and there charges are far less than vets in Kingwood. It's about a 15 min drive. porteranimalhospital .com

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Atascazoo! I really tried to find a vet "in the bubble" and I kept going back. Dr. Jensen was hands-down the best. She treated my Ziggy-boy with care and compassion while respecting our budget limited boundaries.
We also loved the Huffman vet for our cats many years ago.

I love that Atascazoo is open on the weekends as well. We have been using them since 2002 when we moved here. Yes, they are a little expensive, and yes, they may want to run more tests than you think needs done, but they always respect your budget.
