EasyPeasy : One vaccine a few years ago actually caused Shingles. It was removed from the market.

Maybe he was in contact with someone who had chicken pox and didn't realize it. I would think 2 weeks is about right for that.

Yes all three episodes were light cases so the vaccine did help. The last episode was about three months ago They were always on my face

Donnawisdom : Please make sure the doctor or facility has a on-call number or answering service, just in case he ends up with more pain than the prescribed meds can control, over the holiday. This is the absolute worst time of year to need something when medical staff is out of the office. My Mom had shingles and her pain, at times was hard to manage. I hope that doesn't happen to him, but that's where I learned about the importance of backup plans for pain management.

My daughter at 17 had shingles.

We did get that medicine. But they can't get the pain meds yet because they are waiting on the insurance to approve it. It is 52 dollars to pay with cash. My son does not seem to feel too bad so we will wait a bit to see if the insurance comes through. If I were alone I just would have paid the money.

If it is Shingles I believe he may be contiguous to anyone who has not had Chicken Pox or had the vaccine. He needs to ask the doctor.

Donnawisdom : The pain sneaks up on you. Hubs went without the first night and I was racing to the pharmacy as soon as it opened the next morning.
