When did stealing suddenly become acceptable? Weren't we all taught as kids that taking what isn't yours is wrong? It's frustrating to watch people act like there are no consequences, when in reality the cost always gets passed down to customers. We're all paying the price for someone else's lack of integrity, and it's getting ridiculous.

CaffeineFree : All retailers have shrink worked in the budget , you worked management for years , you should know that.
Story: I was at the WM in Kingwood. Walked up to the self check saw a strange message on the screen. I called an employee over to ask what this was. Is this check out out of order? They said "nope" the last customer just left without paying! This was in broad daylight! He said that this happens all the time. He just cleared the screen and went on. I wanted to ask why he didn't call a manager over to take note. I also wanted to say that he himself should care about theft because if he shops there....he himself is paying more. I will show myself out now.

It's not about protecting Walmart or feeling sympathy for a giant corporation. That's not the point. It's about the fact that stealing is wrong, period. We all learned that as kids. And whether it's Walmart or a small business, those losses don't just disappear - they get pushed back onto customers in higher prices. So shrugging it off doesn't help anyone. Right is right, and wrong is wrong.
KanKan, cbear and ZMAN + 1 more reacted Unbelievable I just had to put this out there it's been bugging me all night, my wife and I stopped at the porter Walmart on our way home yesterday about 7:20pm as we went through the self-checkout a woman with a overflowing basket proceed to scan we noticed she scanned little stuff and put a couple things in each bag covering the stuff in the bottom then scanned the Gatorade hanging on the sides. Paid for the few things she scanned and left. we were behind her while leaving she smiled at the young man at the door with her receipt in hand that he never tried to look at and said have a good night. We stood there in front of him in disbelief and said that lady did not pay for that stuff he just said have a good night and moshined us out the door. You could see that nothing below the top bags was bagged. It was so obvious, we saw her loading her trunk she took the unbagged stuff out of her basket and put in bags she had in her trunk. I felt like I was in California where ley blatantly let people steal. The young man at the door did not care, Did he know her?
