Donnawisdom : Unfortunately, the shelters are pretty full also. Just too many animals needing homes. The rescue groups try, but most have to have fosters.
I just saw that the main van of Rescued Pets Movement, one of the Houston group that transports animals who have run out of time at Houston's shelters, was totaled last night. No animals involved, fortunately. They are asking for donations to replace it, if you'd like to help. They make bi-weekly runs to northern states where there are homes
msuz : Since I have found the forum it is so nice to hear about all the rescue stories. My DS found newborn kittens no momma under a car at work in the summer heat. He posted a pic of them in this baseball cap someone noticed where he worked and picked them up within a hour. Great KW area pet lovers.

She's much cuter than this pic - I took it leaning over the box they left her in. We already have our dog limit - otherwise she'd be home with me.

jv339: Just when I was about to add that I think this little girl will be on the small side because of her small paws, lol, you posted just the opposite! Perhaps when she's taken to a vet, they could possibly determine who is right about the paws!

Smoothwaters: That story is exactly what I experienced! I was browsing KDC & noticed where a young man at work found 3 living newborn kittens with their umbilical cords still attached. No mama kitty around.He showed a photo of them & I could see the name of his company. I called & got in touch with him, met him right after & then picked up the kitties. They were incredibly tiny! I bought all the supplies & got them all set up at home in a nice, comfortable bed & fed them every 2 hours. Later,the lady who runs LMN cat rescue, ever so sweetly, supplied me with more formula. They grew very quickly & a woman who rescues kitties, picked them up & found homes for them.
That was so fun playing with them and watching them grow & develop their personalities. They were so adorably cute!!

msuz: The owner of Animal Ark on Northpark used to sell puppies & kittens. Perhaps you could call there & see if he still does that in case it doesn't work out with the gentleman who said that he could take Maddie, the puppy, later today. Animal Ark: 281-361-7387When they were about 12 weeks old, the owner of Animal Ark said he'd take them & sell them. No $ collected on my part, that was understood. I think he sold them for $25 each.
He said that they were the best kittens he ever saw, so playful & socialized with really good behavior.
