Spork : You can take many of the civil rights demonstrations and protests. Being 4th generation out of Mississippi, I can tell you from the Freedom Riders and Schools protests and demonstrations at the University of Mississippi where I am proud to say my mother was a participate, changes were made as a result.

Yeah, that's the only one that comes to mind for me too where someone can try making the case that public demonstrations were the reason for laws changing.

I can't think of anything else.

Then give some thought to all protests that didn't change a damn thing other than turning people off to the cause. Ask yourself if the act of protesting is the actual change event that some people think it is.

GiggleMugs : As long as it is peaceful...I'm good. Looking at what is going on in LA now is terrifying and sad. I watched a video and the American flag was lit on fire!

FreebyrdII : Civil protests that are simply gathering, chanting, and holding signs, is everyone's right.

Impeding traffic, blocking business, or being destructive would make me automatically against whatever side they were supporting, just out of principle.

cbear : I wouldn't see why this wouldn't be as peaceful as the other protests that have happened here (Kingwood) in the past. It looks like this event is happening in a lot of other places on the same date, too.

@CatalinaKitKat : I was thinking about what is going on in LA when I posted about peaceful. It is sooooo out of control there right now.

cbear : I can't find the posts, but we had a few threads going years ago about a fictitious gang, originating out of the Greater Greentree Area, who were known as being extremely ruthless. They pop up in various threads from time to time. It's been so long I don't even remember how it started.
